Welcome to Worcester! As the second largest City in New England, Worcester boasts diverse neighborhoods, renowned colleges and cultural institutions and a proud history of innovation and enterprise.
The first national women's rights convention. The first radio station to play The Beatles. We invented the commercial valentine, white chocolate, and the smiley face. And the sewing machine, the G-suit and shredded wheat. It's no wonder they call Worcester the creative city! Poke around and you'll find that culture shines in world-renowned museums and concert halls, theatres, galleries, a wealth of performing groups, plenty of green spaces, ethnic festivals and artists of every discipline.
The Worcester Cultural Coalition is the unified voice of Worcester's cultural community. Boasting a membership of more than fifty organizations and growing, its mission is to draw on Worcester's rich and diverse cultural assets to foster economic revitalization to create a strong cultural identity for the City of Worcester.
